Estherville, Iowa (NorthwestIowaNow.com) — The opening of the Estherville Aquatic Center remains on hold following a comprehensive facility assessment. City officials recently confirmed that several system-wide issues require professional repairs before the pool can safely open for the season. The aquatic center was originally scheduled to open June first… but structural defects in the piping system forced a delay.
City administrator Penny Clayton says crews completed the assessment to pinpoint the damage and are now soliciting quotes from qualified contractors.
The city is asking bidders for both cost estimates and projected timelines. Officials note that contractor availability can be limited this time of year… but they are committed to moving the process forward as efficiently as possible. Once the bids are reviewed… the city expects to share a firm repair timeline and additional details with the public. Residents can track further updates via local media and the city’s website
