STORM LAKE, IA (Northwestiowanow) — A Storm Lake man was taken into custody on multiple outstanding warrants after allegedly fleeing police on Independence Day.
Officers with the Storm Lake Police Department were called to 1500 North Seneca Street at approximately 6:30 p.m. July 4 following reports of a man damaging property inside an apartment.
The suspect, later identified as 37-year-old Christian Quintero of Storm Lake, left the area on foot before officers arrived.
Police were aware Quintero had several active warrants and deployed a K-9 unit to track him. Officers located Quintero a short time later hiding in a nearby drainage pond. He surrendered and was taken into custody without incident.
Quintero was transported to the Buena Vista County Jail and booked on three Buena Vista County warrants. Charges included Second-Degree Burglary, a Class C felony, a mittimus requiring him to serve 15 days, and a parole violation warrant.
Quintero was held in the Buena Vista County Jail on a $10,000 bond.
