LAURENS, IA (Northwestiowanow) – Laurens residents and visitors will have a full weekend of activities to enjoy during the 2026 Laurens Summer Celebration.

The event runs from Friday July 10 through Sunday July 12.

Laurens Chamber President Bry Gustafson says festivities begin Friday.

 

Saturday will feature the community parade at 10:00 a.m., downtown vendors, food trucks, free swimming, a car show, bags tournament, foam party, family movie and other activities throughout town.

One of the biggest changes this year is the evening street dance. Instead of a live band, organizers are bringing in a DJ who will play music and take requests throughout the day and evening.

 

 

Gustafson says organizers have also expanded activities at Sportsman’s Park on Friday night to give families more to do before the fireworks.

 

 

The celebration wraps up Sunday with church services, a ham ball dinner, a concert by The Browns gospel group and a golf tournament.

This year’s theme is”Celebrating America and Community.”

Parade participants do not need to preregister and can begin lining up at 9:15 Saturday morning south of the fire station.
