Ruthven, IA — GTRA Superintendent Marshall Lewis has been placed on administrative leave following action taken during a special joint meeting of the Graettinger-Terril and Ruthven-Ayrshire school boards Thursday evening, July 16.

The action comes as the districts continue to address financial discrepancies involving shared-service agreements that were first disclosed in June. District officials previously hired TrustPoint to conduct an independent review of financial transactions involving sharing agreements between Graettinger Terril and Ruthven-Ayrshire dating back to 2022.

During a joint board meeting on June 9, TrustPoint Managing Partner Murray Stanley outlined the scope of the review, which would compare what should have been charged between the districts against what was actually billed and paid for.

During that same meeting, multiple community members raised concerns about the financial health of both school districts.

Earlier this month, district officials said the independent review had not yet been completed, and no audit findings have been released publicly. No additional information regarding the administrative leave was provided, and district officials declined to comment at this time.
