Storm Lake, IA (Northwestiowanow) — A Peterson man is facing multiple charges following an investigation into the alleged sexual abuse of a minor in Storm Lake.

Officers with the Storm Lake Police Department received a report on July 21 involving a delayed allegation of sexual abuse of a minor child. Police say the incident was reported to have occurred at a residence in Storm Lake during June of this year.

An investigation was launched in cooperation with the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services and the Mercy One Siouxland Child Advocacy Center.

As a result of the investigation, arrest warrants were sought August 3 for 35-year-old Christopher Rodriguez of Peterson.

Authorities say Rodriguez was located by the Sioux City Police Department on Wednesday, August 5, and was taken into custody without incident. He was being held pending extradition to Buena Vista County.

Rodriguez is charged with Second Degree Sexual Abuse, a Class B felony; Lascivious Acts with a Child, a Class C felony; Incest, a Class D felony; Child Endangerment, an aggravated misdemeanor; and Indecent Contact with a Child, an aggravated misdemeanor.

The Storm Lake Police Department was assisted in the investigation by the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services and the Mercy One Siouxland Child Advocacy Center.
