SPENCER, IA (Northwestiowanow) – Regional business and community leaders gathered for a leadership panel Wednesday aimed at helping organizations develop talent and strengthen leadership skills across northwest Iowa.

The Iowa Lakes Corridor Development Corporation Leadership Panel featured Spencer Hospital CEO Brenda Tiefenthaler, Iowa Lakes Electric Cooperative CEO Ryan Craig, Beck Engineering CEO Brad Beck, and Storm Lake Community School District Superintendent Dr. Stacey Cole.

Iowa Lakes Corridor President and CEO Curt Strouth says the panel was designed to give attendees practical leadership insights from local leaders.

More than 70 people attended the event, representing cities, counties, financial institutions, nonprofit organizations and businesses from across northwest Iowa.

Strouth says a major topic of discussion centered on workforce challenges and a tight labor market.

Strouth added leadership development remains a key priority as employers look for ways to help existing businesses and organizations continue growing in the region.

Strouth called the event a success and said Iowa Lakes Corridor plans to continue bringing leaders together to share best practices and strengthen organizations across northwest Iowa.
