Arnolds Park, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — Arnolds Park’s new Police Chief will be no stranger to the public he serves. Mayor Jim Hussong’s appointment has been approved by the city council.

Hussong considered the other applicants from outside the department, but says Kleve is a known quantity.

 

 

Current Arnolds Park Police Chief Al Krueger will burn some vacation time to close out 2026 with Kleve acting as the interim chief until Krueger’s official retirement date on December 31st.

The city of Arnolds Park had also inquired if Okoboji would be interested in sharing a police chief but the answer was “no”.
