Ames, IA (KICD) — The annual ISU Extension Cash Rental rates are out. The statewide average is 279 dollars per acre, unchanged from 2023, and the first time in five years the price did not increase.
Here in the KICD Broadcast area the highway 59 corridor saw the highest rates with 346 dollars per acre in Osceola County, 340 in Cherokee, and 339 in O’Brien.
Buena Vista County was at the average for Northwest Iowa at 304 dollars per acre.
The remaining five counties in our area ranged from 289 dollars in Pocahontas County to 271 dollars in Palo Alto County. Clay County was 282, Emmet County at 274, and Dickinson County at 272.
