EVERLY, IA (Northwestiowanow) – A traffic stop in Clay County led to drug charges for an Everly woman.

A deputy with the Clay County Sheriff’s Office stopped a vehicle September 15th in the 3400 mile of 130th Avenue for alleged speeding.

After approaching the vehicle, the deputy detected the odor of marijuana coming from inside. A subsequent search uncovered marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

37-year-old Hope Elaine Keyser was arrested and taken to the Clay County Jail.

She was charged with possession of a controlled substance, marijuana, first offense, a serious misdemeanor, and possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor. She was also cited for speeding one to five miles per hour over the limit and failure to provide proof of financial liability.
