Spencer, IA (northwestiowanow) — Spencer Hospital says early detection remains one of the best tools in the fight against breast cancer.

Mammography Technologist JaMae Dau with Spencer Hospital was this week’s guest on the Clay County Community Health Update.

Dau says Spencer Hospital staff work closely with patients to make the screening process as comfortable as possible.

Spencer Hospital offers 3D mammography technology and has been designated a Comprehensive Breast Imaging Center by the American College of Radiology. The facility also provides a full range of breast health services, including diagnostic imaging, biopsies, surgical care, and cancer treatment through the Abben Cancer Center.

Dau says having those services available locally allows patients to remain close to home while receiving the care they need.
