Terril, IA (Northwestiowanow) — The water health advisory for the City of Terril has been lifted.
According to a statement released by the city, the water is now safe for drinking, cooking, and other household uses.
Recent samples from Terril’s distribution system showed manganese levels of 0.0413 milligrams per liter and less than 0.01 milligrams per liter, both below Environmental Protection Agency advisory levels.
The advisory had been issued due to elevated manganese levels in the water system. City officials say recent testing confirmed the water now meets EPA health advisory guidelines.
Residents with questions about the lifted advisory or manganese exposure can contact Terril Water Superintendent Brian Klein at 515-320-1122.
