Rock Valley, IA (northwestiowanow) — A former West Lyon softball coach placed on probation in a sexual exploitation case has been sentenced to jail after violating a no-contact order.
The charges stem from an incident on August 23rd in which 27-year-old Alexis Ann Severson allegedly made contact with the victim through multiple forms of communication and used a Zoom account that was not properly registered under Iowa’s sex offender registration requirements.
Severson previously received a deferred judgment on a Class D felony charge of Sexual Exploitation by a School Employee and pleaded guilty to Sexual Exploitation by a Counselor/Therapist, an aggravated misdemeanor. She was placed on two years of probation and ordered to register as a sex offender as part of the case resolution.
On October 15th, Severson was sentenced to 30 days in jail after violating the terms of her probation by making contact with the victim in violation of a court-ordered no-contact order.
The sentence is to be served at the Sioux County Jail. Court records indicate Severson may be eligible for work release if she meets program requirements. She was also ordered to pay a fine and court costs associated with the violation.
