Spencer, Ia (Northwest Iowa Now) – A season of inconsistency in the lineup for the Spencer Tigers Volleyball Team continued after the Siouxland Conference Tournament when two more would-be starters went down with injuries.  Spencer entered the Class 4A Region 5 Tournament Quarterfinals as the #5 seed, missing Senior and Dig leader Lucy Simington as well as Senior and Block Leader Addison Olson.  These two injuries combined with the Tigers not having the 2025 Kill Leader Lauren Koenig for much of the year.

The first set was back and forth early, but some missed hits by the Dodgers led to Spencer building up a nice cushion.  Dakoda Lux, Kenzie Brant, and Calista Frankenstein all had multiple kills in the set, with Marley Prenzlow filling in to the back row nicely as the Tigers took set 1 25-17.

In set 2, Spencer got a great run together with Brant on the serve, building a lead as big as 7 through the middle of the set.  Fort Dodge came tearing back into it though, riding a great run with Hope Alstott on the serve.  The Dodgers took a 23-22 lead, but Spencer finished things off with their most efficient server Jersey Vail, going on a 3-0 run to win set 2 25-23.

Fort Dodge got off to a rough start in Set 3, and Spencer took advantage, building a big lead early and holding it.  There was a scary moment at the end of Set 2 when Dakoda Lux went down with an apparent injury.  Lux came back to start set 3 though and picked up multiple kills as Spencer cruised to a 25-16 win in set 3 to complete the sweep.

Fort Dodge wraps up the 2026 campaign at 5-20 with a 5-3 mark in the Alliance Conference.

Spencer improves to 17-25 overall; they took 11th in the Siouxland Conference Tournament earlier this year with a 2-4 division record and a 2-2 Tournament record.  The Tigers advance to the Class 4A Region 5 Tournament Semifinals where they will visit the #1 seed Sioux Center on Thursday.
