Spencer, IA (KICD) — The city of Spencer has begun going door to door inspecting foundations. Fire Chief Jesse Coulson says they’ll attempt to identify structures that are no longer safe.

Coulson says some foundations have already caved in and broken gas service lines.

And in a related public service announcement. Spencer Hospital reminded individuals to have adequate ventilation as they’re working to clean out basements with gas-powered machinery.
