Spirit Lake, IA (KICD) — The regional ad-hoc committee appointed by the Dickinson County Supervisors met yesterday to discuss methods of alleviating flood problems in both Dickinson and Clay Counties.

Spencer Mayor Steve Bomgaars appreciates having a seat at the table.

He says the consensus is NOT to release additional water from the lake right now, but to come up with a LONG-TERM solution to periodic floods.

The committee will meet again later this month.
