Clay County, IA (KICD)– A Missouri man is facing drug charges following a traffic stop last week in Southern Clay County.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office stopped 25-year-old Austin Light on the evening of February 12th on Highway 71 about three miles north of the Buena Vista County line for excessive speed.

Further investigation led to the deputy reportedly smelling marijuana coming from the vehicle which led to a search and the alleged discovery of the controlled substance along with other items related to drug usage.

That led to Light being arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was also cited for speeding.
