Spencer, IA (KICD)– A Spirit Lake woman has been charged following a single-vehicle rollover crash in Northern Clay County Friday evening.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office received multiple reports of the incident just north of Spencer’s “North Y” shortly after 7:30, minutes after getting a report of a reckless driver about mile north..

An investigation at the scene determined 42-year-old Jolynn Pullen was southbound at a high rate of speed when lost control and entered the ditch causing the vehicle to roll onto its side.

Pullen reportedly fled the scene before responding units could arrive but was later located and taken into custody by the Spencer Police Department..

Pullen was ultimately charged with OWI, possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, careless driving, failure to maintain control and failing to provide proof of insurance.
