Cherokee, IA (KICD) — Cherokee County will get its very own FEMA Disaster Recovery Center Saturday.

The director of efforts here in Northwest Iowa is Tiana Suber, who says the DRC will be located at the former Cherokee County Work Services Building at 322 Lake Street. After it opens Saturday at 1pm, it will be open every day from 8am until 6pm until further notice to help flood victims apply for assistance that might be available to them.

There are also Centers at the Clay County Fairgrounds and the Catholic Church gymnasium in Estherville, in addition to centers in Rock Valley and Rock Rapids. Flood victims can go to any center – it does not have to be the one closest to where they live or even in the county in which they reside.
