Algona, IA (KICD) — An Algona woman has been charged with stealing nearly 1.8 million dollars from the state of South Dakota.
Attorney General Marty Jackley says 68-year-old Lonna Carroll was arrested in Kossuth County last week.

Court records show Jackley was an employee at the South Dakota Department of Social Services from 2010 to 2023. If convicted she faces up to 40 years behind bars.
