Arnolds Park, IA (Northwest Iowa Now) — The new Tourism Director for Okoboji is cautiously optimistic it will be an ok summer overall.

Kiley Zankowski says digital data indicates visitors from Omaha were up 35 percent; and people from Des Moines were up 29 percent in June.

 

 

And traffic resumed when the lake got below flood stage two weeks ago.

 

Zankowski says the loss of room when two motels closed seems to have been made up with an increase in air b and b’s.
