Spencer, Ia (KICD) – The first two rounds of Golf are all wrapped up on the Spencer Golf and Country Club Course for the 102nd Northwest Am.
KICD was able to talk to Matt Conlon, the Tournament director, between waves. He talked about some of the strong scores being put up on day 2.
JD Anderson, a former Northwest Am Champ, hit 2 under par, bringing his total to -6 after the first two rounds. Anderson, like many competitors, keeps returning to Northwest Am because of the people.
Eddie Doyle matched his first round with a 68, giving him a -8 going into the final day. It is Doyle’s first year at the Northwest Am, a tournament he has been trying to get in to for a while.
Edina, Minnesota’s Jack Wetzel scored a 69 for his second round, giving him -10 after the first two rounds. Wetzel, who will be starting his junior season as a golfer for the University of Minnesota, plays in competitive Tournaments like the Northwest Am during the summer to keep sharp on the course.
The Final round, a 36-hole marathon, will begin at 6:40 Sunday Morning. You can stay updated by following my twitter account, @cutler4steven and @KICDSports
