Spirit Lake, IA (Northwest Iowa Now)- A Spirit Lake man charged with attempted murder has been ruled competent to stand trial.

19 year old Caleb Crosby was arrested on May 5th after a shooting in Montgomery. He was located about four hours after a 9-1-1 call, after allegedly stealing two vehicles in an attempt to flee.

Crosby plead innocent on June 11th, and his attorney requested an evaluation. That evaluation was completed on Monday and Judge David Lester has ruled that the case will proceed.

Crosby is being held at the Dickinson County jail on two million 5 thousand dollars bond.
