Des Moines, IA (KICD) — The Iowa Capital Dispatch reports a Cherokee man is suing two Deputies for mistakenly entering his home after an emergency call.
In court documents Dustin Konrady alleges that on the evening of December 18th, 2023, Deputies Jason Galeano and Isaiah Isaacs found a key on his porch and entered his home, searching the basement, kitchen, and then the bedroom where they woke Konrady up.
Konrady says they wanted the house next door where an inebriated man called to report being threatened with a gun and then struck with the weapon.
The Iowa Capital Dispatch says only the Deputies are being sued, not Cherokee County; and say Sheriff Derek Scott declined to comment on the case since litigation is pending.
