Spencer, IA (KICD)– The recent up and down weather conditions are beginning to cause some problems on area roadways especially when it comes to heavier loads being hauled on softer surfaces.
The conversation came up at Tuesday’s Clay County Board of Supervisors meeting regarding some of the softer gravel roads starting to develop ruts because of heavy loads being hauled over them.
County Engineer William Rabenberg told the board official action on its part can make it so traffic is limited in some of these cases.
Rabenberg adds it is not abnormal to see conditions like this starting to develop on roads like one specifically in question north and east of Spencer’s North “Y”.
Street crews with the City of Spencer are also asking for patience as they work to fill a number of pot holes that have opened up a bit earlier than usual on a number of city streets.
