Des Moines, IA (Northwest Iowa Now) — Three FEMA Recovery Centers in the broadcast area will permanently close next week. Wednesday will be the last day of operations for the D.R.C.s in Emmet and Cherokee counties, and Friday August 30th will be the last day for the O’Brien County location.
Centers remain open in Clay, Buena Vista, Dickinson, and Palo Alto Counties and are currently operating 8am to 6pm Monday through Saturday.
Earlier this week FEMA extended the application period for aid from August 23rd to October 23rd but also recommend starting the process as soon as possible.
