Spencer IA (Northwest Iowa Now) –- A Spencer woman suffered life threatening injuries riding her bicycle. According to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office- Ruby Alsman was westbound on 340th St.
22 year old Cariss Gittins was also westbound and was unable to see Alsman on the bicycle due to the glare of the sun and struck the bicycle. Alsman was transported to Spencer Hospital and then later airlifted to Sioux Falls with serious life-threatening injuries.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Spencer Police Department, Spencer Hospital and Dickens Fire Rescue. The incident remains under investigation by the Clay County Sheriff’s Office.
