Sioux City, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — An Emmet County man has been sentenced to a year and a half in prison for being a felon in possession of a firearm.
24-year-old Richard Quintina from Dolliver was arrested after a high-speed chase through Fort Dodge in December. Investigators say they documented five occasions between 2021 and 2022 when Quintina purchased guns by lying on the purchase form. They say three of those firearms were later recovered in crimes involving other individuals.
Quintina pled guilty to one count back in May. He was sentenced this week by Judge Leonard T. Strand. He remains in the custody of the U.S. Marshal’s office until he is assigned a prison. There is no parole in the federal court system.
