Spencer, IA (KICD)– Several groups working with families in need have come together to request Clay County and Spencer create a position to concentrate on helping the homeless.

Rebecca Goecken is the Director of Genral Relief for Clay County. She foresees a position that could go above and beyond what existing agencies are able to do.

Goecken points out the service would be limited to individuals who can prove current employment in Clay County or have children enrolled in school here. Several individuals requested funding for the position at the Spencer City Council workshop session last week.
