Bancroft IA, (Northwest Iowa Now)— A Bancroft man was killed in a rollover accident Tuesday morning in Kossuth County.

KLGA Radio is reporting that a 991 call came to the Kossuth County Sheriff’s office at 9:25 am Tuesday, saying there was an accident two miles southwest of Bancroft along 360th Street. The Kossuth County Sheriff responded to the scene as well as Bancroft Fire EMS.

Once on scene law enforcement and EMS found 53-year-old James Heldorfer had died at the scene after he was partially ejected from the vehicle.

Following an investigation, it was determined that Heldorfer mishandled a curve in the roadway which led to his vehicle overturning. Extraction equipment was needed to remove Heldorfer’s body, there were no other individuals in the vehicle.

First responders were assisted at the scene by the Kossuth County Medical office and the accident remains under investigation.
