Lake Park, IA (KICD)– The Lake Park Fire Department was dispatched to a corn crib fire Sunday night. Chief Brandon Ehret tells KICD News they called both the Spirit Lake and Milford fire departments as backups, but neither department was needed. The call came in around 5:15pm to 1781 130th Street. Ehret says there were numerous, old, outbuildings in close proximity; but the fire was contained to corn crib.
It appears an ember from a nearby garbage fire blew into the top of the crib and caught part of the structure on fire.
The fire department was at the scene for about an hour.
