Webb, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — A fire ban went into effect at midnight in Clay County. Webb Fire Chief Tim Sylvester got a consensus from other chiefs in the county, got approval from the state fire marshal’s office, and then called Northwestiowanow.com.

Sylvester tells our Ben Lundsten farmers can play a role in preventing and putting out field fires.

Burn bans are now in effect for over half of the KICD Broadcast area: Cherokee, Emmet, and Osceola Counties were first. Clay, O’Brien, and Palo Alto Counties joined them yesterday.
