Spencer, IA (KICD)– Monday begins National Public Health Week which gives professionals an opportunity to talk about all that is done under one umbrella at the local level.
Colette Rossiter is the Director of Clay County Public Health. She says while many people think about situations like the pandemic being the primary role, public health actually covers much more from child health to disease prevention.
Then there is also the community education and partnership aspect.
Every county in Iowa has a Public Health department and while they all provide similar core services, some agencies have the ability to cover more areas of need. More information on Clay County department can be obtained by calling 264-6380 or by going to the Spencer Hospital website.
