Lake Park, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — As we’ve reported several times, the Iowa DNR has done extensive shoreline restoration work on Silver Lake in Dickinson County.
Now the city of Lake Park appears ready to do major work to their park on the East Shore.
Mike Cedar from Beck Engineering has come up with a concept that would cost about three million dollars.
Local resident Tim Moerman thinks grants and donations could cover about a third of that.
Two other factors in the park’s upgrade are: The Dickinson County bike trail is now connected to Lake Park and enters town near the park, and Harris Lake Park Schools would like to move the football field from its current location to the school campus at some point, freeing up additional space for park development in the future.
