Pomeroy, IA (northwestiowanow.com) — It appears a Texas man wanted for the murder of his own brother for two years managed to live under the radar in Pomeroy for a portion of that time.

Channel Two in Houston reports authorities there put out a warrant for his arrest in July of 2022, after his older brother was found with multiple gunshot wounds in his apartment in March. They report the younger brother was a person of interest from the start.

Calhoun County Sheriff Pat Riley says his department was informed by residents of Pomeroy that 39-year-old Kyle Coolack had been staying with them, but that they kicked him out after he admitted to killing his brother Brad.

Coolack was located walking along highway 4 Sunday morning, initially gave a false name, but then admitted who he was and was taken into custody on the Texas warrant.
