Primghar, IA (KICD)– An arraignment date has been set for a man accused of killing his mother last month in Sheldon.
Online court records show 41-year-old Nathaniel Kassel is scheduled to go in front of a judge on a charge of first degree murder next Monday, nearly a month after 62-year-old Jody Duskin was found dead in her home by another family member.
Kassel was arrested the following day in South Dakota after after he allegedly sent a text message to relatives saying he was going to kill his mother.
Kassel also faces two counts of fifth degree theft in O’Brien County. Additional charges of possession of a firearm as a felon and operating a vehicle without the owner’s consent have been dismissed by the court.
