Estherville IA, Northwestiowanow.com) –Iowa Lakes Community College was recently granted $490,000 from the Federal Aviation Administration. The grant will help equip high school students as well as support the Iowa Lakes Aviation and airport management programs.
Director of Aviation Programs in Chief Flight Instructor Tim Busch tells Northwest Iowa Now that high school students would be able to take high school classes for aviation while still being in high school.
Busch says that the aviation program currently has nine planes for students in Estherville and in Spencer and that hiring companies are liking what they’re seeing from the aviation program.
