Sheldon, IA (NorthwestIowaNow.com) — Sheldon officially named Eric Meineke the new Chief of Police November 7th.
He served as interim chief since Mayor Greg Gees appointed him in August after the resignation of their previous chief. Two other candidates were also interviewed by the mayor, City Manager Sam Kookier and the City Council. Ultimately Meineke got the job, and his interim time as Chief will be helpful.
Meineke is the department’s handler for their K-9 Ballon and will continue with that role for now.
