Milford, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — Although the turnout was light, residents of the Okoboji school district were offered their first glimpse of some possible elementary school renderings last night.

Architect Kendra Hage says they’ve already conducted two planning sessions with the instructors who will use the building.

The first conceptual drawing has the main entrance to the East, playground to the West – away from traffic – and three dedicated driveways for the public, buses, and service vehicles; also sloped roofs.

Hage believes splitting the school into upper elementary and lower elementary “loops” with centrally located special education rooms would work well.

If the budget allows the new elementary school in Northwest Milford might also have a stage, and house the Superintendent’s office and staff.
