Spencer, IA (NorthwestIowaNow.com) –Housing is still a major issue in Spencer and other communities affected by natural disasters this year. Recently, FEMA delivered 20 Pods, or trailers, to Spencer for temporary living, and Hannah Dickel with Intergovernmental Affairs gives details on the process to qualify for one of the trailers.

 

 

Dickel says that those eligible for assistance have until December 2025 to live in the units.

 

The trailers have all the amenities to live comfortably for a short or extended time.

Anyone who has applied for FEMA disaster assistance can still stay in touch with the regional office.

 

Dickle herself is an Iowa Native and is the representative now handling communication for FEMA disaster declarations in Iowa, as the temporary headquarters in Spencer is demobilizing
