Palmer, MN (KICD)– Two Northwest Iowa men are among three charged in a Central Minnesota burglary case following a pursuit late last week.

Deputies with the Sherburne County Sheriff’s Office were originally called to the Briggs Lake General Store around four o’clock Friday morning where Sheriff Joel Brott says the trio broke in through the front door using a chain and bar attached to the getaway vehicle and took an ATM.

Within minutes of law enforcement putting out a description of the suspects and vehicle obtained from security footage the vehicle was spotted and failed to stop for an attempted traffic stop leading to pursuit that ultimately ended in a parking lot when the vehicle crashed into several large industrial spools.

As a result, 40-year-old Daniel Johnson of Spencer, 36-year-old Robert McKevitt of Spirit Lake and 51-year-old Johnathan Axelson of Minneapolis were all arrested and charged with third degree burglary. Johnson, being the driver of the vehicle, was also charged with fleeing a peace officer.
