Des Moines, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — Two Northwest Iowa State Senators have been appointed to head committees in the next General Assembly.
Dave Rowley of Spirit Lake – who represents Northern Clay County and all of Dickinson, Emmet, Palo Alto, Kossuth, and Winnebago Counties – will chair the Ethics Committee.
Lynn Evans from Aurelia – who represents all of Osceola, O’Brien, Buena Vista, Eastern Cherokee and Southern
Clay Counties – was elected by his peers as Assistant Majority Leader last week and has now been named chairman of the Senate Education Committee.
Evans managed the Governor’s A-E-A bill through the legislature last year and will be in a position to promote one of his priorities in the upcoming session: funding for universal preschool for all four-year-olds.
