Fort Dodge, Ia (Northwest Iowa Now) – The Spencer Girls Wrestling team was at Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge for the Triton Clash on Tuesday.  The Dual Tournament featured 16 teams from across Iowa.

The Tigers opened up with a 42-30 win against Riverside.  In 7 filled weight classes, Spencer won 5.

Next up for Spencer was Valley of West Des Moines.  Spencer dropped this dual 42-36.  In 7 filled weight classes, Spencer won 4.

The third dual of the day paired Spencer with one of the State’s top teams in East Buchannan.  Spencer would lose to the Buccaneers 54-28.  Spencer won 3 of the 7 filled weight classes.

The 1-2 record would place Spencer in the 9th Place Bracket.

In the Quarterfinals, Spencer matched up with Woodward-Granger.  The Tigers came away with a 54-30 win, advancing to the 9th Place Final Match.  Spencer would win all 6 filled matches.

The Tigers would wrestle Humboldt in the 9th Place Final Match.  Spencer would lose to Humboldt 48-30, giving the Tigers a 10th Place finish in the Dual Tournament.  Spencer would win 3 of 7 filled matches against the Wildcats.

The 2-3 day at the Triton Clash will move Spencer’s dual record to 4-4 on the season.
