Spencer, Ia (Northwest Iowa Now) – The Spencer Girls Wrestling team is coming off an 8th Place finish at the State Tournament in 2024.

A few key pieces graduated from last year’s group, but the Tigers do have a host of ranked wrestlers in the preseason.

That’s Spencer head coach Dave Storm. One of those ranked wrestlers he mentioned, Bre Johnson, talked about her process as she tries to find the Podium at the State Meet this season.

Outside of those ranked wrestlers, the team is very young.

2024 State Runner-Up at 145 Shaylee Sutherland likes the Tigers potential.

Storm is pleased with what the effort has looked like in the room early in the year.

Spencer has began the season 4-4 in Duals and took 5th out of 21 teams at a highly competitive Ridge View Girls Wrestling Invitational.
