Spencer, IA (KICD)– After a long process, the City of Spencer has a budget in place for Fiscal Year 2024.

Deputy City Manager Brian Weuve also broke down what the previously reported 0.78 percent increase in the local levy rate will mean for property taxes.

So then the question becomes what do residents and business owners get for their city taxes?

Also on the finance side, the council approved the first filing of an ordinance that will change solid waste rates.

The solid waste rates will have to undergo two additional filings at future meetings but are expected to go into effect at the same time the newly approved budget takes effect on July 1st.
