Storm Lake, IA (Northwestiowa.com) — A Sioux Rapids man has been sentenced up to five years in prison after entering a plea deal in a burglary case.
The Buena Vista County Sheriff’s department investigated the report of numerous burglaries of Sioux Rapids homes that were vacant after the flooding this summer. The case was prosecuted by Buena Vista County Attorney Paul A. Allen, and resulted in 57-year-old Jose Antonio Uribe-Garcia pleading guilty before the case went to trial.
The sentence was handed down Monday by District Court Judge Charles Borth.
