Spencer, Iowa (NorthwestIowaNow.com) — Hunters are shining up their shotguns for the opening of Deer Season this weekend, and Joe Yarkosky with DNR Law Enforcement has some safety tips for hunters.

Another tip from Yarkosky is communicating your location.

Deer Population is expected to be down a bit this year.

Yarkosky also reminds hunters to get permission before going onto private land and no vehicles can be used to chase or hunt deer.
