There will be two new Supervisors in Dickinson County. Republican Levi Markwardt has defeated incumbent Democrat Tim Fairchild 1,244 to 689 in District 5.
The 69-million-dollar bond issue for a new elementary and addition onto the high school for the Okoboji district was approved by district voters Tuesday.
While construction of a new elementary school in Emmetsburg got a slight majority, it needed a 60 percent super majority for passage. There were 1,247 yes votes, and 1,211 no.
