Sanborn Bank Robbery

A Sanborn man has pled guilty in federal court after the robbery of a bank in Sanborn on January 22nd of this year. 40 year – old Del Martinez Evans Jr. is accused of robbing the Sanborn Savings Bank earlier this year. Evans was first charged with second degree theft and 2nd degree robbery, and he chose to plead not guilty however those charges were dismissed after federal charges of robbery by forests or violence were filed against Evans.

HLP Special Election

The Iowa legislature has approved continuance of the state sales tax that is filtered back to local school districts. Harris Lake Park Superintendent Gary Richardson says HLP patrons must reapprove the designated use of those funds at a special election Tuesday.
