Sioux City, Ia (Northwest Iowa Now) – Several KICD 9-County Area schools competed at the Sioux City Relays on Saturday.

In the Class B 100m Hurdles, Okoboji freshman McKenzie Larsen clocked 16.34 seconds to take 3rd.

For the Class A 100m Hurdles, Spencer’s Lucy Simington went 17.48 seconds, taking 1st.  Her teammate Lauren Stuckey crossed the line in 17.7 seconds to take 4th.

Larsen and Simington each qualified for the 100m Hurdles elite race.  Larsen would finish 3rd with a time of 16.59 with Simington clocking 17.02, placing 7th.

The Boys 100m Dash had MMCRU’s Blake Barinsky take 5th with a time of 11.55 seconds.

In the Boys 4x800m Relay, Spencer’s team of Anderson, Rodriguez, Koppie, and Rustad would go 8:32.9, finishing 4th.

For the Boys 400m Dash, Tate VonEhwegen cruised to a 49.97 second race, winning the event for Spencer.

The Spencer Girls 4x100m Shuttle Hurdle Relay team of Eilts, Mehan, Stuckey, and Simington ran a 3rd place time of 1:12.57.

In the Girls High Jump, Spencer’s Lauren Stuckey cleared 5’2” to take 4th.

For the Boys High Jump, Elijah Graves of Okoboji got over 6’1” along with Spencer’s Tate VonEhwegen.  Graves operated in the fewest attempts, taking 1st out of the 3-way tie which also included Evan Stanislav of Glenwood.  VonEhwegen would ultimately fall into the 3rd spot.

Cherokee’s Blake Lovell was 3rd in the Boys Shot Put with a mark of 53’5”.

In the Girls 4x200m Relay for Class C, MMCRU’s team of Tentinger, Groves, Busch, and Draper took 4th with a time of 1:55.18.  Alta-Aurelia’s team of Langschwager, Olsen, Berkland, and Peterson was 5th with a time of 1:55.52.

For the Girls 4x200m Relay for Class A, Spencer’s Hopkins, Krieg, Robbins, and Reynolds combined for a time of 1:50.11, taking 1st.

The Okoboji Boys 4x200m Relay team of Stein, Heller, Graves, and Wright combined for a time of 1:30.33, placing 1st in Class B.

In the Boys Class A 4x200m Relay, Spencer took 3rd with a team of Buum, Timmer, VnEhwegen, and Goyette clocking 1:31.7.

For the Boys 1600m Run, Malakai Vermeer of Sheldon was 4th with a time of 4:41.11.

Spencer’s Lucy Simington would finish 3rd in the Girls 400m Hurdles with a time of 1:09.62.

In the Boys 400m Hurdles, Jerron Heller of Okoboji was 2nd with a time of 55.34 seconds and Gage Johnson of MMCUR was 3rd at 56.84.

For the Girls Class C 800m Sprint Medley Relay, Alta-Aurelia’s Langschwager, Olsen, Berkland, and Droegmiller would take 4th with a time of 2:02.5.

The Girls 800m Sprint Medley Relay for Class A had Spencer’s team of Hopkins, Krieg, Iedema, and Eilts take 2nd with a time of 1:57.83.

In the Boys 1600m Distance Medley Relay Class C race, MMCRU’s team of Barinsky, Johnson, Hermanson, and Galles was 4th with a time of 3:55.21.

For the Class B race in the Boys 1600m Distance Medley Relay, Okoboji took 2nd with a team of Mulhern, Wolf, Wright, and Fear clocking 3:45.37.  Sheldon was 4th with a time of 3:53.68.  The Orabs team was made up of Kamstra, Kleinhesselink, Brouwer, and Vermeer.

Spencer’s Boys 1600m Distance Medley Relay team of Buum, Goyette, Kelley, and Rustad took 2nd in the Class A race with a time of 3:49.48.

In the Girls 4x100m Relay for Class A, Spencer’s team of Hopkins, Krieg, Robbins, and Reynolds was 2nd with a time of 51.37 seconds.

For the Boys 4x100m Relay in Class B, Okoboji’s team of Stein, Mulhern, Storey, and Simington combined for a 5th place time of 44.18 seconds.

Spencer’s Boys 4x100m Relay team of Buum, Harris, Stanzel, and Rasmussen was 5th with a time of 45.23 seconds in Class A.

In the Girls 4x400m Relay for Class C, Alta-Aurelia’s team of Droegmiller, Kaskey, Peterson, and Berkland took 4th with a time of 4:26.59.

For the Girls 4x400m Relay in Class A, Spencer’s team of Simington, Eilts, Stuckey, and Reynolds won with a time of 4:15.83.

The Spencer Boys 4x400m Relay team of VonEhwegen, Timmer, Koppie, and Anderson took 2nd in Class A with a time of 3:31.15.
