Spencer, Ia (KICD) – Now previewing the upcoming season for the Spencer Boys Socccer team. The Tigers turned in a succesful 2022 campaign with an overall record of 13-5 and 8-2 in the Northwest Iowa Soccer League, good for second. Spencer would make it as far as the 2A State Quarterfinal before losing to Pella 2-1. Spencer Coach Jesse Kuehler says the production coming back this year has the Tigers very confident in their defensive ability.
Since the Lakes and the Siouxland Conferences combined to form the Northwest Iowa Soccer League, the group has been one of the strongest in the state. The Spencer boys should be competing again for a league title.
A new development this year on the boys side of the sport is the addition of a fourth class. Spencer will play in 3A, and coach Kuehler says it will present some new challenges.
